My All-Time Favorites:

Was watching a special on "SNL of the 1990s" last night and it got me to reminiscing. I saw the debut show on Oct. 11, 1975 and have watched it on and off ever since.
Here are my favorite SNL characters and skits.

  1. You're short a few characters: Harray Caray, Goat Boy, Nathan Thurm, Hans and Franz, the Richmeister, Sally O'Malley, and Wade Blasingame, Attorney-at-Law. (Even if only for that one commercial. He was too hilarious to leave off your list.)

    And I'd find room for some sketches you missed: John Belushi's Samurai, the Mr. Bill Show, The Olympia Cafe, (Where you could only order cheezeborgers, cheeps, and Pepsi.) the Blues Brothers, the Lawrence Welk Show, (With the Merrill Sisters...especially the fourth Merrill sister, Junice, with her large forehead and tiny hands.) the sketches with Middle-Aged Man and his sidekick, Drinking Buddy, the Joe Pesci Show, Bill Swerski's Superfans, and Bronx Beat.

  2. Another good set of suggestions, Al. I considered many of the ones you mention, but they just didn't quite make the cut (that fourth Merrill sister is just scary)
