It's not my favorite genre, but there are many that I really enjoyed. Of all the possibilities for sci-fi to become reality, my choice would be time travel.

10. (tie) Soylent Green (1973); Galaxy Quest (1999)
"Groundhog Day" and "Stranger Than Fiction" are my favorite films, period. I think they have just enough strange in them to fall into the science fiction category. (Even though most everything else is quite recognizable.)
